AT&T Business Protect for Amazon DSP Phones: Device Protection Explained

Updated September 28, 2026: This article is specifically about protecting smartphones and other eligible business devices used by Amazon DSP operations.

Amazon DSP owners can have dozens or even hundreds of phones in the field every day. Drops, cracked screens, liquid damage, hardware failures, and other device problems can quickly turn into driver downtime and replacement costs.

AT&T Business Protect is one device-protection option available for eligible devices on AT&T Business wireless accounts. It is designed to help businesses repair or replace covered devices when something goes wrong.

Important: This article is about smartphone and device protection. It is not commercial auto insurance, general liability insurance, workers’ compensation, cargo insurance, or any other business insurance an Amazon DSP may be required to carry.

Why Device Protection Matters for Amazon DSP Owners

A phone used by an Amazon DSP driver is more than a communication device. It may be used for routing, scanning, delivery applications, navigation, photos, messaging, authentication, and day-to-day dispatch operations.

When a device fails, the cost is not limited to replacing the phone. The bigger problem can be getting that driver operational again quickly.

That makes three things especially important for DSP operators:

  • Low repair costs
  • Fast repair or replacement
  • A simple claims process that can scale across many devices

What Is AT&T Business Protect?

AT&T Business Protect is a device-protection program for eligible smartphones, tablets, laptops, hotspots, wearables, and other qualifying devices on active AT&T Business wireless service.

AT&T currently offers several Business Protect options.

Plan Current Monthly Price General Positioning
Business Protect Standard $2 or $4 per device Lower-cost protection focused primarily on covered device malfunctions.
Business Protect Advanced $6 or $9 per device Adds protection for covered accidental and liquid damage.
Business Protect Enterprise As low as $5.85 per device Designed for larger deployments. AT&T currently requires a minimum of 100 qualifying devices.

Pricing can depend on the device, plan, and other eligibility requirements, so the exact cost should be confirmed before enrollment.

What Business Protect Can Cover

Depending on the Business Protect option selected, current AT&T features can include:

  • Mechanical breakdown protection
  • Accidental damage protection on qualifying plans
  • Liquid-damage protection on qualifying plans
  • $0 deductible for eligible repairable devices
  • As-soon-as same-day repairs where available
  • As-soon-as next-business-day replacement on qualifying approved claims
  • OEM-authorized service using genuine parts where available
  • More than 2,000 walk-in repair locations
  • Online claim filing

AT&T currently states that Business Protect Standard and Advanced allow an unlimited number of claims, subject to the program terms and claim-value limitations.

Does AT&T Business Protect Cover Lost or Stolen Phones?

No. This is an important distinction for Amazon DSP owners.

AT&T Business Protect does not currently include loss or theft coverage. If loss or theft is one of your biggest risks, compare it with a protection product that specifically includes those events.

What Happens If the Phone Cannot Be Repaired?

AT&T currently lists a $0 deductible for an eligible repairable device. If the device cannot be repaired and qualifies for replacement under Business Protect, a $99 deductible may apply.

Claim eligibility, replacement availability, repair method, and other conditions are governed by the current program terms.

Business Protect vs. Protect Advantage for Business

These are different AT&T device-protection products and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Feature AT&T Business Protect AT&T Protect Advantage for Business
Starting monthly cost Standard: $2 or $4 per eligible device Single-device coverage currently starts at $16 per month, depending on device tier
Accidental damage Available with qualifying Business Protect plans Included
Loss and theft No Yes
Repair deductible $0 for eligible repairable devices $0 for qualifying screen and back-glass repairs
Claims Standard and Advanced currently allow unlimited claims, subject to terms Unlimited claims, subject to program terms and maximum claim value
Large-device deployment option Enterprise option available for qualifying fleets of 100+ devices Multi-device options available for smaller groups of devices

For the detailed business comparison, see: AT&T Business Protect vs. Protect Advantage for Business.

Which Option Can Make Sense for an Amazon DSP?

The right answer depends on how your DSP uses its phones and what risks you are trying to protect against.

Business Protect may make sense when:

  • You manage a larger group of business-owned phones.
  • Your biggest concern is drops, broken screens, liquid damage, or hardware failures.
  • You want lower per-device protection costs.
  • You want access to repair rather than automatically replacing every damaged phone.
  • You have enough devices to evaluate the Enterprise option.

Protect Advantage for Business may deserve consideration when:

  • Loss and theft coverage is important to your operation.
  • You have a smaller number of devices.
  • You want the particular replacement and support benefits included with Protect Advantage.

The cheapest monthly option is not automatically the best option. A DSP should compare the types of failures it actually experiences, how frequently devices are lost or stolen, the number of phones being protected, repair turnaround, replacement costs, and the amount of downtime a damaged phone creates.

Already Have a Large AT&T Business Device Fleet?

If your Amazon DSP or other business has a substantial number of AT&T devices, device protection should be evaluated together with upgrades, replacement cycles, rate plans, device management, and the overall wireless account.

How Do Business Protect Claims Work?

AT&T Business Protect claims are currently administered through Servify. Claims can be filed online 24/7.

AT&T currently lists Business Protect support at 800-341-0228. Repair or replacement availability can depend on the device, location, claim approval, parts, and inventory.

Bottom Line for Amazon DSP Owners

If you operate an Amazon DSP with a large number of driver phones, protecting those devices is worth evaluating as an operating-cost decision, not just as an insurance add-on.

AT&T Business Protect can provide relatively inexpensive protection for eligible business devices, particularly when damage and hardware failure are the primary concerns.

But it is important to understand exactly what the plan does and does not cover. Business Protect is device protection—it is not general Amazon DSP business insurance, and it does not currently cover loss or theft.

How Tiered Smartphone Offers Can Save Your Business Thousands

Want a $599 Phone for $1.99/Month? Here’s How AT&T’s Tiered Offers Work

As a wireless consultant, one of the most common questions I get from business customers is:
“How is this phone only $1.99/month?”

The answer lies in AT&T’s tiered pricing structure, which applies monthly bill credits to bring down the total cost of a device over 36 months. Let’s break it down.

🔍 What Are Tiered Offers?

Tiered offers are part of AT&T’s business device promotions. When you activate a new line or upgrade an existing one under an eligible plan, AT&T applies monthly credits to your bill. These credits offset the device’s cost, bringing the net price way down.

💡 Example: iPhone 16e for $1.99/month

  • Retail Price: $599.99
  • Your Monthly Payment: $1.99
  • Your Total Over 36 Months: $1.99 × 36 = $71.64
  • Monthly Credit Applied: ~$15
  • Total Discount: $528.35

That’s a flagship smartphone for under $75 — paid monthly.

🚀 New Motorola Launch Deals (2025)

AT&T just dropped some fresh offers on Motorola’s latest lineup for business customers:

  • Motorola G Stylus 5G (2025): $2.99/month
  • Motorola razr+ (2025): $8.99/month

If you’re considering a device refresh for your team, these offers are hard to beat.
